How to make a DIY nightstand.
Here's what you'll need to get started:
- 1 sturdy wooden crate
- 4 wooden dowels
- 1 sheet of sandpaper
- 1 can of wood stain (optional)
- 1 can of clear polyurethane (optional)
- 1 drill
- 8 screws
First, start by sanding down the crate with the sandpaper. This will help to smooth out any rough edges and prepare the surface for staining (if desired). Once the crate is sanded, apply a coat of wood stain (again, if desired). Let the stain dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Next, take your four wooden dowels and cut them to size so that they fit snugly inside the crate. Drill pilot holes into the dowels, then use screws to attach them to the crate. These dowels will act as support legs for your nightstand.
Now you're ready to finish up your DIY nightstand! If desired, apply a coat of clear polyurethane to the crate for added protection. Let the polyurethane dry completely before adding any decorative items or setting anything on top of your new nightstand. Enjoy!
