Should we have a national popular vote?

The national popular vote is a proposal to change the way the President of the United States is elected. Currently, the President is not elected by a direct vote of the people. He is elected by a vote of the Electoral College, which is made up of representatives from each state. The number of representatives from each state is based on the state's population. The national popular vote would change the way the President is elected so that he is elected by a direct vote of the people. This would mean that every person in the United States would have one vote, and the candidate with the most votes would be elected President. There are pros and cons to the national popular vote. Some people argue that it would be fairer, because every person's vote would count equally. Others argue that it would lead to candidates only campaigning in densely populated areas, and that small states would be ignored. What do you think? Should we have a national popular vote?
