PSU Tier List: D (2025) Below Average

Tier D are the first acceptable power supplies, ideally for simple computers with iGPU:

  • Requires over-current (OCP) and over-power (OPP) protections to be tested.
  • Must have core safety protections: OPP, OCP (not required for +12V on single-rail designs), short-circuit protection (SCP), and over-voltage protection (OVP).
  • Electrical performance limits: 12V ripple ≤ 120 mV at full load; transient response within ±5% on the 12V rail; overall voltage regulation within ±5% across all rails.
  • Minimum 3-year manufacturer warranty required.
